One can experience the far reaches of the world simply by booking an appointment.
If you love bodywork but want to spice up your usual massage, get a taste of the Table Thai Massage at WET – the Spa at Treasure Island. Drawing from the Ayurvedic healing tradition, which translates to “knowledge of life,” Thai massage is a holistic therapy with roots in traditional medicine.
Originating in ancient India, this method of massage was brought to Thailand by Buddhist monks trained as healers. Based on the concept of meridians, lines of energy that run through the body, Thai massage uses yoga-like stretches and rhythmic compression to increase flexibility, open joints, relieve tension, and release blocked energy along these lines.
As the name of the spa implies, WET extols the therapeutic and nourishing essence of water both in treatments and in the spa’s interior. The design motif is expressed through etched glass panels, meant to reflect rippling water, a sea-inspired color palette and ivory wall coverings, conjuring images of warm sands.
WET is open Sunday - Wednesday 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. Open Thursday - Saturday 6 a.m. - 9 p.m. For more information or to book an appointment, call 702-894-7472 or visit treasureisland.com.
