9:00 a.m. rolled around pretty fast and we had early appointments set up at Wet – the new spa at TI – so we needed to head out quick. After all, guys like getting pampered too. In addition to our massages, Don was scheduled for a facial while I had booked a pedicure. The spa’s new lobby was, in a word, chic, sporting the coolest, rippled, aqua-blue glass that spanned the wall behind the long front desk. The locker room was just like one at a swanky country club, while the list of amenities and extensive services were all top drawer. Once the charming spa girls rejuvenated our weary bodies, we were ready to hit the tables and play a little poker.

We waited a while for Stewart and Jeff, but they never showed. Maybe they hadn’t recovered from last night’s activities. Or perhaps they were still in treasure hunting mode. In any event, Don and I found a nice corner table and were soon joined by an attractive young lady who claimed she knew little about poker. Don and I knew otherwise. A bombshell like that doesn’t cruise around a poker room unescorted, unless she’s got a huge talent for taking other people’s money – at the tables that is. In any case, we played a few games of five-card stud, but after the femme fatale won quite a few hands, we opted to play what has become the talk of the town – Texas Hold‘em. Don kicked butt and took names. Well, not mine, but certainly Sherry’s, along with her phone number. In any case, two hours at the table was good enough for me. My appetite was kicking in, so I gave Stewart and Jeff a ring to see if they were ready to grab a bite to eat in an effort to remedy what was turning into a pretty substantial hangover.

All in all, the weekend was off to a great start. And TI just seems to get better with each visit. We’ll definitely be back for our next reunion, although I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before one of us gets married and messes up the whole treasure hunting gig.

No worries. TI has something for everyone.
