The first time I gambled here was at Circus Circus. Pragmatic and poor, we entered the pink tent with just the change from the car’s console, less than $3, and played the slots. Within 20 minutes we’d made enough to ride the roller coaster and have drinks and dinner. When that kind of thing happens, it’s easy to get a taste for Las Vegas. |

What is one thing you’ve seen or experienced that proves this?
I won $1,000 on a $2 bet on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine. That experience encapsulated everything that Vegas has to offer: the glitz, the glamour, the illusory-yet intoxicating feeling that at any moment things could change for the better. Whether it’s being transported to some magical place via one of the incredible shows or the fact that the whole world is brought to you in a few blocks, it’s a city like no other. |

Let’s start with what’s not possible: Me hitting 20 at roulette. I’ve been playing that number for 10 years and I’ve only hit it once. But dinner at Joël Robuchon at The Mansion at MGM Grand was divine intervention. Food will never be the same. Also, this city is like a blank canvas. I’m a design freak and I love to see the latest work by the world’s best architects and designers all in one place. |

There’s always some tale taking place somewhere, always something of a scene. About 10 years ago, I actually saw Elvis. He was walking downtown near the government building. It was ‘round 4 p.m. I knew it was him because he wore one of his trademark white jumpsuits, belt included and was...pushing a cart. Probably the first ever “Homeless Elvis.” Only in Vegas. |

Pulling from Fred Leighton, Fendi, Dior, and Armani at Via Bellagio for the lingerie shoot with the cast of Zumanity. Las Vegas is the shopping Mecca! Seriously, everyone who is anyone is here. At one point I thought I’d had enough but then realized if nothing else, I’m getting a great workout!

The shows and restaurants. There is no other city in the world that has so many productions going on at the same time. How can all of that happen at once? The food is incredible too. We have beautiful restaurants and there are so many to choose from. One can hardly decide…or go wrong. Then, to top it all off, the service makes you feel like coming back. Even if you live here, like myself. |
