Story by Ed Main

The Egyptian sun god RA, with his 20-foot wingspan, is the ruler of the night at the Luxor hotel. Welcoming the four girls to the Egyptian playground was Steven Lockwood, the mastermind behind RA. Lockwood has helped bring “Mash-Ups” to the city (think AC/DC mixed with Snoop Dogg or Joan Jett overlaid with Notorious B.I.G. vocals and you get the idea); his latest concept is a bi-monthly event called A/V, where rather than just mixing music, plasma screens fill the venue in a visual cornucopia of images. After being adorned with VIP wristbands, the girls sauntered past Lockwood and the Egyptian statues into the lair of RA, complete with an underground vibe, brushed steel, and lots of dancing.

Pleasuredome, RA's Wednesday night offering, attracts international DJs such as Timo Maas, Paul Oakenfold, and Paul van Dyk. Lockwood made his way around the VIP area and invited Ann Marie and Rachel to a private party in one of the plush, back rooms. A giant plasma screen, lounge-style music, bottles of vodka and the stylish crowd—high rollers and DJs—created an elite ambiance. Once back on the main floor, they found their new Vegas girlfriends and decided to call it a…morning! They looked in disbelief to see the little hand on their watches approaching the four.

Thursday—Day 2
“I lost the list!” exclaimed a frantic Rachel as she searched her pockets and purse. Ann Marie, who was in the bathroom neatly organizing her girlie stuff on the counter, decided to call Natalia and Christie, but only got voicemail. The girls realized that without “The List,” they needed an expert to navigate the hot lounges and clubs; they decided to go to Studio 54 and locate their new friends.

The girls arrived at the legendary Studio 54 and approached the clipboard-toting VIP hostess to inquire if Natalia or Christie was working. “They're somewhere around here, why don't you come in and look for them,” the hostess replied. The glass door opened and an influx of sound, lights and bodies greeted them, along with a giant, neon “54.” After recovering from momentary sensory overload, they spotted Natalia. She listened to the tale of the lost list and reassured them that Studio 54 and Tabú were the places to be and set the girls up with a few drinks to get their night started.
