What if sunbathing could be taken
beyond the supine absorption of
vitamin D, beyond mere solar worship,
into the realm of an outdoor club, where
“hot” doesn’t just describe the desert’s
unrelenting temperatures? Well it can –
and does – at Bare, where the name
alludes to European-style bathing…and
so much more.
Separated from the mob-scene of the
average pool on The Strip is Bare, an
intimate setting complete with two
pools, daybeds, cabanas, a VIP section…
and an age requirement. Men and women
21 and over lounge in the sun, enjoy soul,
acid jazz and house music spun by a DJ
and add steam to the arid air, getting
the party started early and often. This is
sun worship as it was meant to be.
It’s the kind of innovative indulgence the Light
Group pool operators has become famous for
at its other hot spots, such as Light at Bellagio and JET and STACK at The Mirage. With their
reputation for sophistication and elegance,
management, not surprisingly, underscores
even the European-style bathing offered at
Bare. “You have that option,” says Managing
Partner Liam Dwyer, “but there’s no pressure.”
“No pressure” is the theme of this haven, where
palm trees tower above and dolphins chatter
nearby. The sea creatures leap through the
air, creating an exotic backdrop as cocktail
servers deliver pitchers of sangria and mojitos
to lounging patrons. European-style bottle
service is also available.
Attendants are at the ready with cucumbers
to soothe tired and sun-kissed eyes,
chilled fruit on skewers, popsicles, mini
smoothies, cool towels, and custom-made
coolers full of beverages. Guests can
settle into a floating chair or indulge in a
pool-side massage. Here, the decadence
that Las Vegas is known for doesn’t stop
just because the sun is up.
