In a community that dates back to the 16th century,
Corum – founded in 1955 – is a relative newcomer among
Swiss watch manufacturers. As is the case with most
newcomers, a defining characteristic is the desire to stand out
from the crowd: Corum achieves this with unique, creative
and boldly designed timepieces, available in Tesorini at
Bellagio, The Watch Boutique at MGM Grand and
The Mirage and The Jewelry Box at Beau Rivage.
While Corum offers elegant watches that adhere to the
classic aesthetic, they also create pieces with an undeniable
rock-and-roll influence, becoming the ultimate accoutrement
for every archetype: the impeccably dressed CEO, the
strapping sailor squinting against the whipping winds, the
movie star with a live-fast-and-die-young sensibility, and the
high roller sipping scotch and betting large, to name just a few.
By injecting a distinctive energy into the precision and
excellence that is ubiquitous among Swiss watchmakers, and
by combining cutting-edge technologies with self-confident
designs, Corum produces watches – all which hold patents or
copyrights for their innovations – for collectors of original and
complicated timepieces. Here are three lines to watch:
Created over 25 years ago, the layered and intricate
Golden Bridge revolutionized the watchmaking world with
the transparency of its sapphire crystals, providing a glimpse into a tiny cosmos: the inside of a complicated timepiece.
Hand-engraved bridges span from end-to-end, tiny gear
wheels spin, black gold hands sweep the face, and its unusual
slipping-spring winding system seemingly floats in space.
Chosen to celebrate Corum’s 50th anniversary, the
Golden Bridge was updated with state-of-the-art technologies
and two new looks: an original version in 950 platinum with
a pink gold movement and a white gold version set with
diamonds.
The spirit of adventure is reflected in the Admiral’s Cup
line, named after the aristocratic yacht race bearing the same
name. Beginning with the Admiral’s Cup Chronograph 44 (the updated 2006 version is now available), this collection
overtook the world of sailing.
