Name: Bill Hornbuckle
Occupation: President & Chief Operating Officer, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
Q. Who is the funniest person you know?
A. Funniest person I know is Robin Williams. His energy, his political satire and his humor are generally on
target. He has a great way of making the normal seem
ridiculous. Had dinner with him once and I never got to
eat, my stomach hurt so much from laughing.
Q. What is your table game of choice?
A. Blackjack. I know enough to be stupid
and usually I am!
Q. Where is the best place to watch March Madness?
A. Best place to watch March Madness other than
my home theater is at the Mandalay Bay Sportsbook. Great energy, young crowd
and guests who are into their basketball team or their money, whichever seems more
important at the time.
Q. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
A. Any and all Carlos Santana shows, U2 at the
Grand Garden Arena at MGM Grand and I took my dad to see Frank Sinatra
at the Golden Nugget the year Sinatra retired. The expression on my dad’s face
will stay with me forever.
Q. Have you ever been star struck? By whom?
A. Had dinner with Michael Douglas and
Catherine Zeta-Jones at the Mansion at MGM Grand...she floats my boat!
Q. Who is your favorite Las Vegas legend?
A. Two: Mr. Kerkorian because after 40 years he has never
stopped believing in Las Vegas and Bugsy Siegel, he threw a rock in the middle of
the desert and said let’s do it here!
