“I’m very proud of that beautiful, intimate
area where 1,500 guests can really experience
world-class entertainment right here in Biloxi.
We had a theater before, but we’ve freshened it
up. We’ve added seats that swivel and recline,
and there’s space between the seats, so you can
swivel comfortably,” says Corchis.
Besides presenting superstar entertainers
like Wayne Newton, The Beach Boys, Blue
Man Group, Howie Mandel, Willie Nelson,
and Bryan Adams, the theater is home to a
Russian show, Imaginaya. This show mixes
performances by the Russian circus and the
Russian dance troupe, Todes. The result is
stage dancing that encompasses everything
from folk and hip-hop to jazz and classical
moves. Imaginaya will stay at Beau Rivage
through June 24.
I can never visit Beau Rivage without
indulging at the Spa and Salon. On my last trip,
I did an all-day spa pampering with a massage,
Pevonia Caviar and Pearl Facial and pedicure
followed by lunch in the solarium. But on this
trip, I went for some serious glamorizing:
Xtreme Eyelashes.
I missed out this trip on a pedicure, but I
took a look inside the new group pedicure
room where up to five friends can get
simultaneous pedicures. Talk about group
therapy! This is definitely on my list of things
to do on my next visit.
The Mississippi Coast is a beach town, and
its climate allows for outdoor recreation nearly
year-round. Beau Rivage makes the most of
this with a lushly landscaped pool and deck
that create an outdoor paradise. The areas
around the pool can be reserved for private
events and you can even reserve a private
poolside cabana, complete with luxury
amenities and concierge services.
The newest addition to Beau Rivage’s outdoor
offerings is one of the best to be found
anywhere in the country: Fallen Oak golf
course. Nestled among oaks, pines,
pecan groves, and magnolias, the course
encompasses wetlands, forest and marshes on
a 510-acre tract of land at the edge of DeSoto
National Forest. Designed by legendary course
architect Tom Fazio, Fallen Oak has already
been heralded by golf writers as a rare beauty.
One course feature that’s drawing a lot of
attention is the SubAir system. This system
controls air circulation and moisture content
on the course by vacuuming water out of the
greens. A sampling of others that employ
a SubAir system includes such exclusive
courses as Augusta National in Georgia, The
Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South
Carolina, Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton
Head, and MGM MIRAGE’s Shadow Creek in
Las Vegas. By all accounts, Fallen Oak is
destined to become one of the country’s top
golf destinations. And it’s exclusive to guests
of Beau Rivage.
Oh yes, Beau Rivage is back and has created
an experience unlike anything else in the
region. George Corchis credits the staff for
that. More than half of the people who
worked there before Katrina
returned to Beau Rivage, and
that’s one reason everything
came together so smoothly.
“Providing this level
of service is all about
the experience and doing
hundreds of little things better
than everyone else,” says
Corchis. “I couldn’t be more
excited about the professional
level of service our employees
provide. Anyone can build
a Beau Rivage, but it’s
our employees that make it
exceptional.”
