Q. The event has also become a major annual
fundraiser.
A. Last year’s event raised $1.5 million for nearly two
dozen charities, including the Tiger Woods Learning
Center in Anaheim (twlc.org). The Learning Center is just amazing. We launched a year ago with the goal
of helping kids discover the right career path. Every
time I go there the kids just blow my mind. There
are fifth graders learning about forensics and
robotics and DNA. I am so proud of what the Center
has become in such a short time. I am proud that
TigerJam also supports local charities including the
Boys and Girls Club of Las Vegas and the Center for
Independent Living.
Q. Why did you choose Las Vegas as the site
for TigerJam?
A. It’s Vegas! It’s absolutely perfect for TigerJam. Our
sponsors, including our presenting sponsor AT&T,
love Las Vegas and the local fans are great. We are
thrilled to be here and to celebrate our 10th Jam.
Q. Headliners have included luminaries such
as Sting, Stevie Wonder and Prince. Which
artists are on your wish list for future
TigerJams?
A. We are so fortunate to have had so many
musical greats lend their talents to TigerJam.
I’m really excited to have Bon Jovi back this year.
Jon, Richie, Tico, and Bryan, those guys put on an
awesome show.
