A few years later, Cao packed his bags and took off for Mexico with the equivalent of $200 in his pocket. While searching for work in Cancun, he practiced juggling bottles every day in the park. One day, a man – who just happened to be the manager of a major resort – noticed him and gave him his business card. A few days later, Cao interviewed with the manager who not only offered him a job, but also set him up in a resort bungalow where he lived for more than a year.

In March of ‘04, Cao jumped at the opportunity to become part of a top-notch flair team working in Tampa Bay. While residing in Florida, he traveled all over the world to compete in bartending competitions, quickly gaining international status. One of his favorite competition sites was the Wisconsin Dells, located just north of Madison, the state’s capital. Here, he first discovered Kahunaville and became intrigued by the fact they featured flair bartenders.

Midway through ‘06, Cao relocated to Vegas and Kahunaville hired him on the spot. This was an exceptionally good move: Cao had just won first place in a world bartending competition the previous month. When asked to name the hardest part about the job, Cao replied, “Juggling four, five, even six bottles at a time can be very challenging, which is why I practice every day. But the hardest part is that you have to be ‘on’ your game all the time. At Kahunaville, we want to make sure our customers leave with a pleasurable, memorable experience…and hopefully with one of our really cool souvenir cocktail glasses!”
