Maybe you’re a well-seasoned fitness enthusiast – the kind who always takes the stairs, who enjoys the twin sensations of perspiration and muscle burn, who never misses a workout. If so, getting the exercise you seek may seem a daunting task on the Las Vegas Strip. Here are a few suggestions for how to get your heart pumping – high stakes wagers notwithstanding – while in Vegas.

THE RUNNER
If you’ve ever attempted to jog The Strip, you know this: even if you successfully negotiate the throng of casual strollers, even if you have the lung capacity to withstand the diesel fumes of a passing bus, there’s nothing quite like the odd volcanic eruption or cannon fire from a raging battle on the high seas to diminish the meditative effect of your workout. You’ll need to pursue an off-The-Strip solution. Desert Breeze Park is less than five miles away, straight up Spring Mountain Road. It offers a perimeter path and some fabulous views of the city rarely seen by out-of-towners. Similarly, Sunset Park, just to the southeast of The Strip, provides a fitness trail that’s popular with local residents. Both parks are easily accessible.
